I only get about two or three days a year where the snow feels like some sort of miracle, and today is one of them. Winter only has a few days left, and seems determined to use them nicely. It snowed all morning, the kind of snow that looks real in the sky, and manages to coat the cars, buildings, trees, and bushes well, but leaves the streets and sidewalks nothing but wet. That was pretty good, in its own way. Sometime in the afternoon the snow turned to rain, and then abruptly changed its mind and started to snow like it meant it. This time it covered everything, streets, sidewalks, and people included. After the near warm of yesterday a lot of people weren't really dressed for snow, and seemed not to believe it even as they stood in it. It's been light and fluffy as it falls, but wet and heavy once it lands. Huge sopping blankets of it slide in single sheets off of cars and awnings. The trees look like magic. Ugly things are pretty. I love today.

This song is like a clock ticking. That one reminds me of all of the best feelings I had the year I was nineteen, and those songs... The right song at the wrong time can be terrible. That's been happening a lot lately. But, the right song at the right time can just be so... big. Too big to fit into the part of you it's trying to fill, and it almost hurts, and it feels so good. And right now I'm really happy, and for so many things.
